The comparative study of cholesterol separation from lipoprotein lipid mixture in serum was carried out by the methods of Sperry, Hirsh and Ahrens, and vahouny with the following results:
1) The method of choice for the rapid separation of cholesterol was the micro thin layer silicic acid chromatography.
2) The values of free and esterified cholesterol in serum lipoprotein of normal rabbit by the method of micro thin-layer chromatography were : α-lipoprotein free and esterified cholesterol, 5,7 ±0.69; esterified cholesterol, 6.9 ±0.37; β-lipoprotein free cholesterol, 12.3±2.55; and esterified cholesterol, 17.5±2.15.
